Why Train at Dent Tennis Academy?
1 Unparalleled Coaching — No other tennis academy in the country offers on-court training with coaches who have competed against players like Roger Federer, John McEnroe, and Serena Williams. There is no doubt that we know what it takes to make it on the ATP and WTA tours and win at the highest levels.
2 Character Development — Our aim is to not only create champions on the court, but off the court as well. Dent Tennis Academy is a family academy with Christian values. Tennis is a magnificent game that prepares student athletes for overcoming obstacles later in life. However, at Dent we believe it is vitally important that our students leave our program having learned strong moral values, leadership, accountability and integrity.
3 Live in a Home Environment — Unlike many other tennis academies, our students will live in a home with adult supervision at all times. They will not be living in a dorm like space by themselves. Our students will experience a family environment that any parent would approve of. Honesty, integrity, and leadership are all qualities that the Dents hold close to their hearts. Living in this environment allows the Dents to teach and instill these character development traits and Christian values to each student who comes to train at Dent.
4 Professional Fitness Training — At Dent Tennis Academy, we strive to have the fittest juniors in the nation. The number one way to get in tennis shape is to spend time on court. There is no substitute for playing real tennis points. That is why our athletes spend four hours on court every day doing drills with Taylor and Phil and participate in match play. However, we understand off-court training can help prevent injury and increase our students’ quickness, stamina, and strength.
Jenny Dent leads the fitness training. Jenny was known for her strength and fitness on the WTA tour. Her workouts are designed specifically to increase stamina, strength, and quickness on the tennis court.
5 Situational Mental Training — One of the most important aspects of tennis players’ games is their mental attitude. It is impossible to become a successful tennis player without a competitive spirit. At Dent, we incorporate drills that put pressure on our athletes as if they are playing a real tournament match. We preach the importance of focusing on improving your game and not results. Winning matches at the junior level does not predict future success. Our students have to stay committed to improving their overall tennis game over winning tennis matches. This mindset and approach is how professional tennis players are made.
