Austin Haden

Austin was born and raised in Fort Worth and was coached by a friend of Phil's from the ATP Tour -- Mike Estep (former coach of Navratilova from 83-92, Sanchez-Vicario, Novatna). He attended ECU on a full athletic scholarship and produced a successful college career competing at the #1 slot for both singles and doubles.

After graduating college and a short-lived, failed attempt at playing professionally, Austin started working for Jose Higueras (former coach of Federer, Sampras, Courier, Chang, Bruguera) and Vitaly Gorin (Former Russian Davis Cup coach & former coach of Tursunov, Basilashvilli) as a High-Performance Coach at their academy in California. During his time at the Higueras-Gorin Academy, 85% of the players that attended the full-time academy either received an athletic scholarship or went on to play professionally.

Austin was also a former Junior Performance Director for Texarkana Country Club that saw two players go on to play Division 1 Men's Tennis at Vanderbilt and UTSA. After moving back to DFW to become the Director of Junior Tennis at Walnut Creek Country that saw the addition of a performance program that grew to over 60 kids at its peak. Austin has worked with beginners all the way up to professional players. His players have seen success at the local, national, and international levels of tennis. Austin still loves to play the game in his spare time, but now his warm-up is way too close to his worn-out!
